Buddha’s Recommended Meditation Times (From the Pali Canon)

The Buddha did not mandate specific clock times (clocks didn’t exist), but he gave clear guidelines based on the natural rhythm of monastic life and practical advice for laypeople. These come from the Pali Suttas (e.g., Majjhima Nikaya, Anguttara Nikaya), especially in the Vinaya (monastic code) and discourses on mindfulness.
